Summary:Using the Iraqi National Library and Archives as a case study, this study begins by defining the concept of digital library, identifies the status of digital library projects in Iraq using an assessment survey and interview results and subsequently attempts to determine why Iraq does not currently have a current and comprehensive digital library. Furthermore, this study evaluates existing digital libraries in Iraq from the perspective of patrons and staff and ultimately develops a library model based upon the Aurora Digital Library.
