MCJ was at that time employed at the Boston Children's Aid Society (BCAS) where, among other activities, she was involved in expanding BCAS's ""Library of Philanthropy."" It seems likely that MCJ's requests for information from Lillian D. Wald of the Henry Street Settlement (New York) and C.S. Loch of the Charity Organization Society of London were part of her attempt to collect materials from various organizations for the ""Library."" In 1912 the library was transferred to the Boston School for Social Workers (later the Simmons College School of Social Work).
