Description
Summary:Mother Raspberry made the best jam in the valley; it even tamed the savage wolf.
"Not far from the village, in a white cottage nestled in the woods, lived old Mother Raspeberry. Every year in late summer when the berries were ripe, the small house bustled with children. Carefully they crushed the freshly picked berries and boiled them slowly in a large copper kettle, until the whole valley smelled of Mother Raspberry's famous jam. In winter when the roads were closed, the children could not visit Mother Raspberry, but they could see smoke curling from her chimney, and they knew she was all right. Then one icy morning there was no smoke. Was something wrong? Was Mother Raspberry ill? The children would have to make the difficult journey through the deep snow to find out."
