The title of the series is taken from Lorien in the ''Lord of the Rings'' by J. R. R. Tolkien, also called Lothlorien, it is an Elf realm in Middle Earth. In the Lord of the Rings, the Ent character Treebeard describes the full name as meaning "dreamflower", the element Lorien means dream.
